Kyrenia… a town that has not ever slept for forty years. A Town, not any town but the Town of Kyrenia, built on the north beaches of Cyprus from thousands of years ago.
A Town that has been crucified to wash out all the sins of the worldwide politics.
Kyrenia… a Town that I have never met, no matter how much I walked on her streets.
A Town that has been invaded by strangers’ smells.
The Town, not any town, but the Town of Kyrenia will be there. It was there for thousands of years.
No matter how many conquerors soiled its streets, Kyrenia was still there.
And now? What do you think will happen now?
Will they be able to transfer Kyrenia’s soil to any other corner of the Earth? No matter how much their machinery digs the chained Pentadaktylos, do you think they will ever be able to tame the mountain and make it theirs?
Kyrenia will be there.
With strange smells to us, but it will be there. As long as we will be there too.
