In Kiti village, found southwest of Larnaca, you can find the Holy Church of our Lady of Aggeloktisti. The Church has been built on the ruins of a paleochristian triple aisle Basilica, in the 11th century. The previous aisle is dated in the 5th century. Ever since the 11th century up until today, the Church has sustained many changes, extensions and transformations.
Aggeloktisti is one of the few Cypriot constructions known to the rest of the world. It is visited by many believers from all over the world.
The fact that it is found in Kiti is a subject that we will deal with later on. I am just referring to it briefly. When a village has the Divine grace to welcome such an important religious and simultaneously cultural construction, the least this village has to be is presentable.
