The new church of Agia Marina in Pyrga, is found in the “shadow” of two very old churches, in the central square of the village.
On the north side you will find the medieval church of Agia Aikaterini, or as it also known the Church of the Agio Pathos (Holy Passion), and on the south you will find the church of Agia Marina which is dated in the 12th century.
In a very small distance on the east, the Muslim Mosque is found. The existence of the three Christian Churches and the Muslim Mosque in the same village, reveals that the settlers of the village lived peacefully, as well as the respect they had for everyone’s Religious beliefs.
