It was in 1974 when the settlers of Lysi, Ammochostos, got the road of refuge, leaving their village, their land, their churches behind. Amongst them, is the church of Agios Efimianos.
It has been years after that, and the people from Lysi did not go back to their village. This is how they decided to construct a new chapel, quite similar to the one they had back in Lysi. A chapel that would be a sort of a lighthouse for all the people of Lysi. They would gather up there, and they would look at each other. The elder ones would remember the years they spent in the Mesaoria plains, and for the younger ones, that did not live in Lysi, would learn about it.
The place was chosen to be close to all the villagers. Kornos was the place where the meeting point would be.
The Agios Efimianos chapel is found while travelling along the old road from Nicosia on the direction to Limassol, 500 metres after the left exit to Stavrovouni.
