The church dedicated to Agios Georgios from 1963, is found in a central point in the big square of Mazotos, on the opposite side of the community council offices. It is a cruciform Church with a dome.
It was built in the same location in the place of another older Church, that was demolished in order for a new, bigger one could be built, with the donations of the settlers of the village.
With the continuous extensions, valuable treasure belonging to the Church have been lost or ruined.
The icon of Agios Georgios is probably the only one in Cyprus that shows Agios Georgios with a sword in his hand and not a quarterstaff as he is usually represented by our iconographers.
