On a confluent of Vasiliko, very close to the village of Odou, that belongs to the mountain area of Larnaca, there is a small picnic area. Its capacity is limited to 30 people. It does not have sanitaries nor places for food preparation. The only thing it offers is 3-4 picnic tables.
This does not ruin the picture. The rare beauty of the landscape, the ancient arched bridge that connects the two shores of the river, in combination with the beautiful wooden bridge that connects the east side of the place with the west, take you to other, old and very romantic periods.
The water that runs in the riverbed, competes with the melodic sounds of the birds that nest on the high, thick platanus trees. In this small picnic area, the traveller or excursionist will be able to spend a few hours in complete calmness that the Cypriot Forest environment can offer.
From the entrance to the road that takes you to the village of Odou until the picnic area, the landscape and the environment of the valley where the river flows, will prepare you about what you are going to see when getting there.
The huge platanus trees create a “wild” and simultaneously virgin confluent forest with the dense plantation of the trees themselves, as well as with their foliage density.
The small picnic area of Odou is found 3 kilometres after you enter the road that takes you to the village of Odou, while travelling from Ora, going to Melini.
