In the village of Oroklini, found in the district of Larnaca, on the peak of the “Arfodafni” hill that dominates over the village as well as the shores of Larnaca, there is a picnic area.
It is a small picnic area with a grill, a double faucet, a few picnic tables out of which the majority is sheltered and a park for children.
These may sound like just a few things in relation with the huge picnic area we find in the area of Troodos. The area of land it is missing, is supplemented with view. Nothing can prevent you from having amazing images of the sea and the area of Oroklini on the south, the British bases on the southeast, and of Larnaca and its port on the southwest.
The cool air that always blows coming from the sea, causes a magnificent environment even in the middle of the summer. It is not by chance that even Prophet Ilias chose the peak of the hill to live in a very beautiful chapel.
There is access to the picnic area from the west side of the old village centre, with a sort of uphill road, which is being widened at this period of time, but this does not prevent smooth and safe access to the picnic area and the chapel of Prophet Ilias.
