Lagia or Lageia, is a village of the mountainous part of Larnaca, and it is found a few kilometres after Lefkara. The journey to Lagia goes uphill through a thick, greek pine forest. At many points you have the chance to stop and admire the panoramic view that the landscape offers. The view begins from the north of Larnaca and extends until the suburbia of Limassol.
The village is perched on the south slopes of the Kionia mountain peak, it has a small centre with quite old houses, as well as luxurious ones at a certain distance around them.
It is a very beautiful village and its few settlers take care of it and clean it.
The main church is on the southwest side of the old centre of the village, in a very beautiful landscape. It is a church that is dedicated to the Assumption.
The visitor can see and count the taps that used to exist in Lagia. Some of them are found integrated in house foundations, something that demonstrates the sensitiveness of the residents for these taps, that instead of demolishing them, they kept them, even if this means them being on the walls of their houses.
A journey that takes you around the village and ends up in the courtyard of the church begins from the point where the community council of Lagia is found. It is a very beautiful journey going through fields that every visitor of the village should take. Lagia is offered for temporary as well as long-term living. The distance from Larnaca and Limassol is short.
