Menogeia is found between Agglisides and Kofinou, on the old road of Larnaca - Limassol. Leaving from Agglisides on the way to Limassol, in a distance of 2 kilometres we can see Menogeia on the left hand side.
The village is very small and has about 50 residents. Before, it used to be a mixed village, meaning that there were also Turkish Cypriots in it, which explains the presence of the Mosque which is found at its entrance.
Imposing as it is, and in a prominent position is the Temple of Athanasios and Kyrillos. It is an ancient construction, which reveals that in this place there were Greek Christians from a very long time ago.
Right away the visitor gets the feeling of fear and insecurity. Everything is so calm. You hear nothing. The few houses found there are silent and nothing betrays the presence of people. Maybe this is why the Cypriot Government chose this place to build the prisons for the illegal immigrants.
For those who like to be in this kind of strange places, Menogeia is a kind of paradise.
