On exiting Alaminos, going towards the sea, we find Koulas. It is a well conserved medieval observatory. It is a stone built observatory that dominates the area and supervises the sea.
It is unknown how entrance to it was achieved, since the only entry is found quite high from ground level. The most probable is that they had a transferable ladder or that there was an underpass that led to its interior.
In the whole of Cyprus there are only 4 observatories of this type.
