Agios Minas female Monastery, is found on our way from Vavla to Kato Drys or even the opposite.
The Monastery has its roots from the Venetian domination, when it has been founded. During the Ottoman period a radical renovation took place in 1754. Consequently it degraded and was abandoned. In 1965 after it was renovated another time, it was transformed into a female communal Monastery. This is how it still exists today.
It is important to note, that in the Monastery we were given the permission to take pictures without any restrictions, in contrary to others.
If you ever go to Vavla, do not neglect to pass by the Monastery. Besides your religious interests, you will see that there are also many others. You will find a big variety of sweets, fruits and herbs. Buy some.
