In the village belonging to the Mountainous part of Larnaca, Lageia or Lagia, you will find a very old tap with potable water. The residents were supplied with the necessary amount of water for their homes from 1709, from a wild landscape, and the confluence of two streams. A source on the south, vertical shore of the river that is formed by the streams with their connection, used to keep the village and the fields in “life”.
“Palia Vrisi” (Old Tap) as they called it, was one of the 12 taps that existed in the area. Some dried out and were lost. Others were placed in the foundations of today’s houses and some others just exist without giving out water.
