The church dedicated to Our Lady is built from the 7th century in the field found west of the village of Choirokoitia, in the “shadow” of the “hill of the Franks”. In that very same field, the deadly battle between the invading army of the Mameluks and the army of the king of Cyprus, Ianos, resulting to the crush of the Cypriot army.
Panagia tou Kampou, as they called it, is a Byzantine single aisled Church with a dome. As centuries passed, it had been greatly modified and it must have been frescoed more than just once.
The surrounding yard must have been used as a cemetery, since in it, tombal findings were excavated.
In addition, in the west yard, the foundations of an ancient mill used for olive oil extraction were found.
