At the entrance of the Kalavasos village, parallel to the riverbed of Vasiliko, we can observe the “Maria” community park.
It is a small park that includes: a play place, benches and a water tap. There is also a train placed on its rails, that are found on the bridge above the river.
The train used to transport ore from Kalavasos towards the area’s port years ago. The park was created by some donor, this is why he gave it his mother’s name, that was Maria. There is a relative statue at the park’s entrance.
