On the area of the church of Petounta, on the beaches of Mazotos and on the eastern side of the new settlement, there is a small forest. Being surrounded from the east, west and north sides by vines, it surprises you once you face it.
In Cyprus we are used to pinewoods and of course we forgot that a long time ago, Cyprus was a huge palm forest. As such, when you see this small forest in front of you, if nothing else, it brings about curiosity.
It is really a very beautiful view. The palm trees did not grow there on their own, but someone planted them there symmetrically. One can freely walk amongst them. If you are found in the area, do not forget to visit it.
