The church of Agios Epifanios in Apsiou is found in the centre of the “lower neighborhood”. It is built out of white stone, just as most of the old houses of the village are built.
It is covered with an arched Basilica, with external prominent stone spars. Its architecture is unique at the point where the external vertical spars of support widen up progressively as they reach the ground on the southern side, in contrast with the ones found on the northern side, which have a vertical, linear line from top to bottom.
In addition, the northern entrance is framed with a prominent arch that connects with the two spars of support, thus forming a very beautiful gate. In addition the arch found in the arch, looks more like a “ς” than like an upside down “u”.
