On the plain that "stretched" between the villages of Eptagonia and Akapnou, an ancient faucet still gives water. It is the fountain of "Panagia tou Kampou” (Our Lady of Campos). Unfit for human consumption anymore, the water continues to flow and connects to that of the Vasiliko river, which still "carves" and transforms the landscape for millions of years, flowing endlessly.
The faucet is located 50 meters west of the church dedicated to Panagia tou Kampou and it has its source at the same soil where centuries ago, the mythical Queen of Cyprus, Rigaina, galloped with her horse, going and coming among the sweet fruit bearing vineyards whose grapes "give" people the divine nectar and wine of "Commandaria".
The faucet of “Panagia tou Kampou”, since it is situated on the edge of the once only path which, through the Venetian bridge of Akapnou, linked the villages to the villages of the "Great Commandaria", used to cool and quench the thirst of humans and animals.
