In the beautiful little village "Profitis Ilias” (Prophet Elijah) of Sykopetra, Limassol and in the "shadow" of the mountain peak of Papoutsa, there is a National Monument, dedicated to the Hero of the Republic of Cyprus and who was killed in the domain of Honour.
It is built in the courtyard of the church dedicated to the Prophet Elijah at a point where the valley of the river Amathos lies with unobstructed views several kilometers away. The honored Hero "stands" in the bust that little village created so as the next Cypriot generations remember.
Kyriakos Kyriakos Andreou was young back then, born in the small settlement, obeyed the call of the Fatherland and ran to defend it from the Turkish invader. It was his Fate to have to give his life for freedom.
May his remembrance be eternal.
