In a village found in the semi mountain area of Limassol, which is found 6 kilometres south of Arsos, there is a small “miracle”. East of the deserted village of Trozena, and on the only road that exists that takes you to the church of Agios Georgios, among the high and ancient Platanus trees, there is a tap welling out of the mountain.
The water comes out “wild” from the headwaters, after an underground “trip” through the arcades it carved on its own as centuries went by. On the earth's surface it continues its “journey” to the west and after it passes north of the church of Agios Georgios it falls into the depth of a deep gorge created by the river, making great noise.
The water of the tap of Trozena irrigated the fields of the settlers of Trozena and Gerovasa found in the river's valle for hundreds of years. Now the thousands of cubic metres of water of the head tap flows freely and needlessly and they join at the Diarizos river, since both villages have been abandoned.
In the area where the headwaters are found, nature has created a very beautiful landscape. Humans have created 2-3 benches so that the visitors of Agios Georgios may have a rest under the shade of the Platanus trees and to observe the flow of water.
