Five old settlements, Mesovounia, Chalasmata, Petromouthi, Kremmous and Kalifoudi, gave their way to a village, and its residents called it Pentakomo.
Before 1974 the village had residents from both communities of the island. After the Turkish invasion and the obligatory change of population, the Turkish Cypriots were forced to move to Turkish occupied, controlled areas. Their houses and properties, were left resulting to houses becoming ruins and properties being destroyed.
In some of its areas, due to the fact that many houses have become ruins, the village itself seems to be abandoned. In the areas where there are Greek residents, there is evident prosperity. This contradiction reveals in you a strange feeling. A feeling that stems from the reality of the imposition of will of the strongest.
