The small village Analiontas is situated 20 kilometres south of the Capital and it is between two important monasteries of the Cypriot Church. The Monastery of Archangel Michael and the Monastery of Theotokos (Holy Mary). It has about 350 residents.
A few years ago, a few dozens of people lived in the area. The village’s history, and its geographical position, attracted foreigners who bought land and settled there. This is how some of the village’s areas have been greatly developed. This is probably the reason why the community succeeded to erect the new church which is worth many millions.
The area is rich in underground waters, therefore many residents deal with crop cultivation. It should be noted that in some cases they transfer water with huge plastic channels, to cover the needs of their cultivations, and also those of the neighbouring village, which is Tseri, that is, in a distance of several kilometres.
Analiontas is thought to be the settlement that has its roots from the prehistoric period of Cyprus.
