At the Orkontas station that is found on the shores of the river Setrachos, in the valley of Marathasa, there is a natural source of potable water. The residents of the settlement, transform it to a stone built tap.
For many years, back when the visitors still stopped at the restaurants of the station, the tap filled their bottles with cold and crystal clear water. There was no traveller from and to Kykkos that did not need water from the Orkontas water tap.
After the abandonment of the journey towards the monastery of Panagia Kykkou by the worshippers, consequently the station was deserted. Thus, without human presence, it still exists and gives its water that is lost in the Setrachos riverbed.
After the tap of Pegeiotisson which is found at the village of Peyia, in the Paphos district, it is probably the most famous natural tap, among hundreds of others that are found spread on the island.
