Nine kilometres from the Vyzakia village, on the direction to the village of Kannavia, on your left you will find the exit that takes you to the Kapoura picnic area. This picnic area is found on the southeast shore of a tributary of the Elia river and it is integrated in the Kapoura forest station.
It is found in a forest of platanus, wild arbutus, cedrus, pines, oaks and many other kinds of trees, and it offers all the facilities to the excursionists.
There are spaces for cooking food, as well as tables, and they can welcome about 200-250 people. The space also provides facilities to our fellow humans that are obliged to sit on wheelchairs. Food cooking as well as lighting fires is ONLY allowed to adequately designed places. There is plenty of water as well.
There are a few parks for children, but they should be accompanied and under control of their parents while using them.
You will find a map with the paths of observation of nature in the picnic area, designed by the Department of Forests, found on the “Madari” mountain peak area. In addition, you will find the history of the Forest Station of Kapoura posted on a board.
