From the medieval years, there was a road that crossed the Marathassa valley, that followed the same route with the current one. The medieval bridge of Orkonta that joins the shores of the Setrachos river is a witness of the ancient road.
It is found a few metres from the Orkontas station. A relative sign guides you to a left exit, exactly at the point where the food centre of the station with the name “Orkontas” ends. You follow the route that is covered in dense plantation and the bridge is found at 100 metres from it.
Due to the plantations as well as the government’s indifference to embellish the surrounding area thus promoting the ancient construction, the visitor will have a hard time finding it.
