Gerakies, is perched at one thousand metres from the sea, and is found on the way to the Kykkos Monastery and a few kilometres away from Kalopanagiotis.
The route from Nicosia is 65 kilometres. Arriving to Orkonta, you cross the valley of Marathasa, and a very steep with tight turns road takes you to Gerakies through Kalopanagiotis. The journey sounds a little bit difficult, and it is, but once you Arrive to Gerakies you forget everything and focus on the landscape.
It is a village where you can spend your holidays, with the paths of nature that lead you through the thick forest, with narrow and steep streets, with its people’s simplicity. You can find all the basic foodstuff and other needs in the village.
From there you can get to the Kykkos monastery in a very little time as well as to Kalopanagiotis, Pedoulas and Moutoullas. There is also a Hotel at Kalopanagiotis.
