The Eisodion tis Theotokou (Entrance of our Lady) Holy Monastery, a sorority on the borders of the Kampia village and in small distance from Analiontas. It is found between two other big monasteries belonging to the Cypriot Church, the monasteries of Archangel Michael on the east side and of Agios Iraklidios on the northwest.
The Monastery was grounded in 1991 and two years later it was inaugurated. It is situated in a very advantageous area of the village, on the peak of a hill with an unobstructed view from kilometres away.
At the Monastery’s entrance you will notice that there is a sign in English, that forbids entrance to tourists. Whatever the sorority’s motivations, there is no possibility that a Christian foundation would not appeal to the people to stay away from its Churches, going against the will of God Himself who taught his disciples to “let the people come close to me”. The current prohibition, exudes medieval Pharisaism and in no case does it represent Cyprus.
Fortunately it is only in this precise Monastery that there is such treatment of believers.
