Vrisi tou Diakou (the tap of the deacon) is found 3 kilometres south of the picnic area of Agia, within the valley of the river of Ezousa, if you are travelling from Stavros tis Psokas towards the dam of Kannaviou.
The source of the tap is found a few metres away from the dirt road and the area that has been appropriately transformed by the Department of Forests of Cyprus. At the point where the water wells out from the mountain, a small reservoir was created and from there, through a plastic pipe, they guided it towards the road and to a point where there was a platanus tree trunk. Through holes of the trunk, they created two taps and potable water ran from them.
The area of the tap of Diakou was a stopping point for a rest for every traveller of the valley of the river of Ezousa. The Department of Forests modulated the area and the tap in a very beautiful way.
All of this took place a few years ago. Today? The pictures can “tell” you everything. We shall make no comments, we will just ask… why?
