Amiantos village is found a few kilometres before Troodos mountain. It is situated in a green environment and is divided by the Kouris river.
An area that has to be walked by each visitor, local citizens and visitors, it is the area also known as ‘Atous baths’. It is an unbelievably beautiful area and its distance consists of only about 2 kilometres. By walking this way, you can see and meet many kinds of the Cypriot countryside.
The people are simple and welcome with the foreigners. The fact that most of them come from different areas of Cyprus (the metal mine that existed attracted people from all the neighbouring villages even from Pafos district) does not make them hostile and distant. On the contrary, they will invite you for coffee.
Even though many houses are inhabitable (mostly those on the central road of Limassol - Troodos which also divides the village into two parts) the streets are clean.
Pontikas and Amiantos Community Parks, and the Botanical garden in the metal mine, are a few more places a visitor should spend some hours at.
There are no tourist lodging and this is wrong. Of course, there is a retreat place belonging to the SEK labour federation, but it is only for Cypriot members of the federation. It is such a beautiful place and it should have at least one hotel.
