The location of “Dichaloi” is found left of the road of Panagia towards Koilada ton Kedron (the Valley of the Cedrus trees). It is a location where there are many water springs that are being used to irrigate the communities nearby.
An artificial water tap constructed in 1981, a wooden bridge above the small bed created by the flow of water from a natural spring, a big platanus tree and a few that were planted later on by the Department of Forests all create the location of Dichaloi.
At the point where the young trees are found, as well as where the rocks from which the spring wells, you can see the marks left by the visitors.
The area is offered for a few minute stop and for rest.
In the official newspaper of the government, dated on the 26th November 1982, this location is referred in an announcement concerning the cancellation to cut 1942 pine trees from the location of “Dichaloi” and to transfer the wood to the Forest Industry of Cyprus Ltd factory, in Kokkinotremithia. Of course the 1942 trees did not escape danger, since just a few years later they were cut in order to widen the road of Panagia to Koilada ton Kedron (the Valley of Cedrus trees) which is covered in asphalt today.
Unfortunately only a few forest roads are still covered in gravel, resulting to the journeys through the woods of Troodos and Paphos not being as enthusiastic as they were a few years ago.
Forests should stop being covered in asphalt, this is how their beauty is lost. Avenues such as the one of Panagia - Koilada ton Kedron (the Valley of the Cedrus trees) should be constructed within the cities and not in forests. The forest is not a destination for everyone. It is a destination for those who love it and want to walk along it, based on his conditions.
